Didcot football team scores sponsorship from town opticians

An opticians in Didcot has pledged its support for a local football club as part of its ongoing commitment to working with community initiatives.

Specsavers in Orchard Street has teamed up with Didcot Town Youth Football Club to sponsor its under 11s boys’ team, providing much needed team kit for the new season.

Members of the team visited the store to say thank you to the staff and presented them with a shirt and photo of the team in their new kit. A few of the boys even had an eye test, showing how important it is for everyone, young and old, to get their eyes checked regularly.

‘We are very grateful to Specsavers Didcot for providing the kit,’ says Club chairman, Kevin Lyons. ‘Their support and partnership are vital for the team to wear the Didcot Town Youth FC red and white colours, allowing the children to feel part of a team as well as helping with their football development.’
